Arrest of Journalists during investigation is against Press Law, says Gorran
The Change Movement Press Room coordinator, Dler Abdulkhaliq said that the arrest and detention of journalists during investigations is against the press law in the Kurdistan Region, so it is necessary for the courts, the judiciary and security forces to work in accordance with the laws in force and do not widen the legal obstacles for journalists in getting information.
" The Change Movement( Gorran) attaches importance to the freedom of press and establishing of an appropriate environment for the work of journalists so that journalists can more easily access information. The movement considers freedom of the press a priority of the movement's policies." He added.
His remarks came after the arrest of Amanj Ahmad, correspondent of Sbeiy website in Soran area and Azad Osmanm director of Dang radio station in Kalar in the past 24 hours.
