Gorran’s general council votes to boycott next  Iraqi Government


The Change  Movement's General Council met on Thursday 24 May 2018 under
the supervision of the General Coordinator, Omar Saiyd Ali.

The meeting discussed the situation of the movement,  participation in
the next Iraqi government and the position of the Kurdish parties
rejecting the results of the elections of the Iraqi Council of
Representatives.

In a speech during the meeting, Omar Saiyd Ali  spoke about the steps
taken by the Change Movement to cancel the election results since its
announcement. Referring to the position of the six political parties
that rejected the election results, and the meeting held by four
political parties with the envoy of US President, Brett McGurk and his
delegation.

In another part of the meeting, members of the General Council rejected
with a  majority of votes to boycott  the next Iraqi government,
directing the proposals to the National Assembly to decide on Saturday.
They also set a road map for the Kurdistan Regional Parliament elections
scheduled for 30 September this year.
