The announcement of National Concil of Gorran Movement

Today, 9th July, 2020, the national council of Gorran Movement with Gorran team in the government made its meeting to discuss the political, economic, and governing situation of Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

in the beginning of the meeting, all members thanked and appreciated the role of doctors, health employees, police, security forces, local governments in the provinces and citizens, who took their responsibility voluntary during the beginning of spreading coronavirus.
Some recommendations in the meeting were improved, including:
First: the national council of Gorran precisely evaluated the Gorran’s participation in the ninth cabinet of the Kurdistan Region Government. The deep political, economic, financial crisis of Kurdistan Region, are the result of bad governing and unfairness and corruption of the recent periods. Also, implementation of reform and radical changes, which are the goal of Gorran in its participation in the ninth cabinet of the government, were stressed. In this context, national council supports Gorran team in the government.

Second: the Kurdistan Region Government should commit to the final announcement of minister council in 21th june, 2020 which decrease the salary of employees just for one month and this procedure is temporary. Gorran Movement stresses the government should commit to that procedure. In doing so, these following steps shoud have been done:
1-Radical reform in the oil and gas sector, border crossings, taxes should be done.
2-Agreement with the Iraqi Government is necessary, in doing so, both sides should commit their rights and duties.
3-All incomes should be returned to the government treasury and the monopole by the partisan companies should end. That is the important step to increase incomes and give the salary of employees.

Third: the reform in the Peshmarga forces, police and security forces should be done by halting the partisan interference and make them national institutions.

Forth: continuation and development of Kurdistan Region is based on the construction of good governing bases, retaking citizens’ trust, implementation of the strategy of balance in the regional and international relations.

Fifth: the creation of artificial and side tension between political parties should be ended because we think that this is a justification to delay reform.

Sixth: Gorran Movement makes exchange and change in the local government of Sulaimany, Halabja, Raparin and Garmian administration.

We are sure that we can overcome the unwanted oilitical and financial crisis with reformist participation. Gorran with its strong trust is committed to its national duties and it remains as a defender of citizens’ rights. In doing so, it takes all necessary steps.
