Region's political leaders congratulate Gorran

In a telephone call with the newly reelected Gorran leader, head of the ruling Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) Masoud Barzani congratulated Ali on his reelection and wished him success.

Deputy leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) Kosrat Rasul also issued a statement following the Gorran elections, congratulating its newly-elected party leaders, including former PUK politburo member Ali.

“I hope your reelection as leader of the Gorran party plays a positive role in developing bilateral relations and unity among all political parties in order to overcome the problems and end crises,” Rasul said.

President of the Kurdistan Region Nechirvan Barzani, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, and Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani also congratulated Ali on his reelection and wished him success. All shared hope for concerted party and government efforts to serve the people of Kurdistan.

Director of Zanyari Agency and Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) official Lahur Sheikh Jangi hoped that the Said Ali’s reelection would “bring peace, unity, and political cooperation to the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the Gorran Movement so as to return political balance to the Region and further serve the people.”

Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani posted his congratulations on Twitter after calling Said Ali.

“In my call I wished him the best and offered my support to ensure we continue working together towards serving all the people of Kurdistan,” he tweeted.

 

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewas Faiq congratulated Mr. Omar Said Ali on his reelection as Gorran's (Change Movement) General Coordinator and also congratulated the party’s Executive Body. In her letter, Dr. Faiq said she hopes that this election heralds stronger relations between Gorran and all the political parties to work for Kurdistan's national goals and serving the public. She wished Mr. Ali continued success in his work.
