Formal Announcement
In the occasion of (17th February), Gorran Movement released a
message and said: protecting this entity of Kurdistan Region and its thrive, is
based on the implementation of those demands that expressed 10 years ago that have
been risen by youth during the demonstrations.
The detail of statement:
Today, a decade passed on the demonstration of (17th February),
that event is actually was a warning
alarm about the development that happened during this recent 10 years upon our
nation and people. Unfortunately worse events are coming.
After many years of the defeat of
Baeth regime and the availability of an independent region, the youth of this
region felt that the establishment of nation needs two main pillars-
unfortunately they were ignored by the authority of Region- that pillars are:
the freedom of opinion, transparency and social justice.
At that time when the Arab Spring
started to raise, the youth of Kurdistan rushed to the street and made
demonstrations hoping to guarantee a better future.
Unfortunately, the authority hasn’t
listen to them, in contrast, it made a campaign of suppression, arresting,
kidnaping, and killing. In (17th February) day, the militiaman of
political parties shot towards those youth.
Today, it clear for all that if the
authority responded those demands, the later events, including the Islamic
State attack, cutting Kurdistan Region budget by Baghdad, interference by
states, even if they happened, they would not have effects on the citizen of
this nation.
In that sad occasion, which we
commemorate martyring of those youth, Gorran Movement stressed: again,
protecting the intity of our region and thrive it, is based on responding the
demands that had risen 10 years ago by the youth who made demonstrations and
those demands are: freedom, social justice. Further, we the rights of those martyrs
should not be ignored and their killers should be trialed.
