Kurdistan Alliance between Gorran Movement and PUK has been signed

Sunday, June 20, 2021, Gorran Movement and Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), signed the agreement about making an alliance called (Kurdistan Alliance) by which they will participate in the upcoming Iraqi election as one power.

After the event, Soran Jamal Tahir, a member of political bureau PUK said in a press conference: we hope that this agreement will be a step towards thriving the other previous agreements that haven’t been implemented. This alliance is in favor of the people of disputed areas and it is a step to work unified in Baghdad.


He also said: we called all political sides to be together even after the elections, we support Gorran Movement in the upcoming elections and we expect to increase Kurdish seats in the Iraqi Parliament.



Also in the press conference, Darbaz Muhammad, the delegate of the alliance said:  this agreement is a new step in the news circumstance, and it is about the next Iraqi election, so it can be possible to make other new steps.

He also said: Kurdistan Alliance is a good step for us to be united against problems faced us in Baghdad.

Kurdistan Alliance has been registered in April 30, 2021 between Gorran Movement and PUK in the Independent High Electoral Commission of Iraq.
