Abadi: Armed forces must keep impartial, far from political party's influence

The Iraqi prime minister states that the armed forces must be impartial stressing on the importance of maintaining the neutrality and professionalism and the influence of the political parties on them.
al-Abadi's remarks came during a lecture delivered on Saturday at the University of Defense for Military Studies / National Defense College titled (The Role of the Executive Authority in the Reconstruction and Management of the State).
"Iraq citizen currently has great confidence and respect for the security forces, which came as a result of large sacrifices and professional dealings," he added
al-Abadi said that there are groups that exploited the war to urge the stockpiling of weapons in order to threaten the state and to be stronger than them and to distinguish the citizens, and this will not be allowed,
"There will be no weapons outside the framework of the state," Abadi added
