Ali Hama Salh: border crossings have become huge centers of corruption and smuggling

The head of
Gorran bloc in the Kurdistan Parliament said that: from yesterday night, 200
trucks that hold smuggled stuff, have been waiting until leaving of Iraqi
ministry of interior team so that they can import their stuff to Kurdistan
Region.
“A team of
Iraqi ministry of interior has come to Bashmakh border crossing. When that team
came, the smuggling which has been done for a long time, stopped,” said Ali
Hama Salh.
He also
said: “more than 200 trucks have been waiting that team in order to import their
stuff into Kurdistan region.”
He mentioned
that: Kurdish officials with assistance of those security forces who have been
given their salary by income of poor people, import expired food and smuggled
things, but when some Iraqi security officers come, those smuggling will be
halted.
He stressed
that the border crossing of Kurdistan region have become huge centers of
corruption and smuggling.
