Dler Hussen: the role of governorate councils has been weakened

A member of Gorran bloc in the governorate council of Erbil said: Goran views that the implementation of decentralization is the priority and it should be implemented in the all areas, it can’t be used as pressure to achieve political goal.

“The decentralization is the best governing system in the world, so it has been Gorran’s priority from its beginning of establishment,” said Dler Hussen in an interview with KNN website.

He also said: we want to implement decentralization not just in the provinces, but in the all districts. The decentralization is necessary for Erbil and Duhok.

He believes that the partnership should reflex in Erbil, because the government’s pressures lay to this province, so it can’t administrate this city by on political party and monopole it.

Commenting about the role of governorate councils, he said: the role of them has been weakened especially in Erbil province, because there is a mentality that works on the minority and majority in this province.
